#6 - Baa Baa Black Sheep Wool Giveaway Winner!!!

Earlier this evening I was downstairs washing up with my husby.  My phone made a strange noise upstairs.  When I came back up and had a look, it was a reminder to draw my giveaway!  Thank heavens I thought to set an alarm cause I'd completely forgotten about it haha!!!

I quickly got out my trusty giveaway drawing hat, scribbled everyone's names and drew out a winner.

Wreath-ing

I bought a pack of polystyrene wreath's for a few dollars a while ago.  They sat in my drawer for  a while.  Then a bunch of my Pinterest friends kept pinning awesome wreaths.  I figured it was time.  My first inspiration was this...

This oozes my personality and gorgeousness.  I don't have hessian though.  So I had to be creative.... and came up with my own version.

I love it just as much.  Even though it was photographed on the front door, it hangs in the doorway of my craft room, because husby "doesn't care for wreaths".  Haha!  I did cheat on the back of my wreath though.  I used pins to secure the hanging trim because the wreath is made of polystyrene, I knew the cheats method would be sufficient.

Last night and this morning I experimented again with a smaller wreath.

But this one has nowhere to live.  Need to decide what to do with it.  

Aren't they pretty!!   I love making wreaths, but won't make anymore cause I have no use for them hahahaha!

PPS.  No giveaway wool was used in this wreath...although it was tempting :P

A little bit frazzled

I have had a shocking 24 hours.  Pretty suprised I haven't cracked and sobbed like a baby in the corner yet...... yet being the key word.  You know what would cheer me up?

Thoughts on a giveaway.

Let's be honest.  We all love a giveaway.  We want something for nothing.  We want new delicious crafting goodies.  It's so easy.  You enter by saying "oh that (bla bla) is SOOO adorable I would absolutely love it.  thanks for the chance to win!"  And then every so often the random internet number picking man chooses you! 

So I want to do a giveaway.  But of course with conditions.  Plus I need some input.

1.  What do you want to score win from me?
2.  I won't draw it until I have 100 followers.  I'm currently at 80.  I don't think it's unreasonable.  What do you think?
3.  It's going to be simple to enter.  You don't have to think of something wonderful to say.  All you'll have to say is "I want in".  I'd be quite happy for you to use that exact phrase actually.

Did you see those magic numbers?  I sure as hell did!  31 posts done and dusted!!

So I have a little suprise for my giveaway winner which I have not yet picked out of my trusty hat.  You know how my giveaway looked a bit boring and there wasn't much up for grabs...?

Well I lied.  What was in that picture and what I have been advertising as the prize all month long is a lie.

Calendars and Trains

Well here I am.  Second last post.  I'm sorry, but I am amazing.  I haven't missed a day.  And all of my posts have been half decent.  No cop out poems, or a paragraph about how I'm busy.  I was determined!

But I have a piece of paper to thank for that.  This piece of paper kept me going.  It kept me on schedule.  It was even at times my source of ideas.

My Blogtoberfest Calendar!! Yay!!  It was available at the beginning of the month on Tinniegirl's blog.  I printed it out on day one and have relyed on it since.  Did you use yours?

Now let's talk about trains.

My nephew Spencer loves them.  I decided to do a handmade gift for him this year.  I found a 4 pack of train shaped wood cutouts at the cheap store last week.  I knew I had to get them!  I wasn't sure what I was going to do with them right away, but I knew regardless of what I chose to do, my nephew would adore them and talk about them for hours.

So last night I had an idea.  I would paint them into Thomas the Tank Engine characters!!  I'm nothing special with a paintbrush but I figured he was 3 and wouldn't notice my crooked lines, and they were basic enough that I should be able to get it right.  I just had to remember which 4 characters he loved best, but also I knew they needed to be all different colours. 

So I first of all sketched the different trains.

So that was my starting point.  I photographed the sketches because I knew I'd paint over the details and would need the photos as a reference when it came to decorating later on.  Last night I did as much as I could.  I only had green, black and blue paint.  The rest of the paints and all of the glitter paints I bought from the cheap shop this morning.  I got them all finished up as fast as I could because there was plenty of other things that needed to happen today.

All I need to do is pick out some ribbon and I am making a vertical garland, which will go on his wall.  I showed my sister a picture of them and she has confirmed that he will pee his pants in excitement when he see's them Christmas morning.  I'm just glad they turned out!!
