Sketch Layout Challenge #6

It took me a little longer than usual to get this blog post up, sorry! It was due a week ago but busy-ness got the better of me. But here it is! Our challenge this time round was selected by Kymberly, and here it is!

Such a sweet layout with the twine & bunting!

This first design was made by the talented Ali from Fresh Gifts. I love love love it! That Panda is SO CUTE. It's a great mix of colours and textures with the bunting & chevron designer papers. A beautifully designed & executed card!

Next up is this beauty my Kristy Coromandel - Stampin' Up! Demonstrator. Kristy had a little bit of fun with the layout and moved things around a little bit while still using the elements suggested in the sketch. I love it. I think my favourite thing is the bunting with the pearl accents.

This card was created by my talented sister Alicia. There are so many pretty elements to this card but my absolute favourite thing is the buttons & ribbons tied onto the twine on the left. She has hand dyed the twine with Summer Starfruit ink so that it matches the rest of the card perfectly. It really is SO BEAUTIFUL!

Here is our challenge choosers card design! The sweetest new baby card ever! We have spots, spots & spots, because one can NEVER have too many spots. I love it. It's sweet and super cute. Nicely done Kymberly!

And last but not least is my creation! I decided this time round to have my main focus on the sentiment. This sentiment is one I have not been able to use before and I have been dying to use it for some time! So I kept all my other elements quite simple. I used some DSP to give me my colour scheme and this is what I came up with! It will be put up for sale on my Facebook page later this week, so keep a look out!

This is such a fun challenge that we will be continuing going forward! If you would like to join in please feel free to join this group where everything is organised! Would love to have more friends join in :)

The Hallmark Challenge #2

I am STILL exciting about our new challenge series. We kicked things off last month with our first challenge which you can read about here. We also had another person play along and add their challenge card in the linkup party at the bottom, so be sure to check it out.

So a quick recap if you aren't quite sure what the Hallmark Challenge is:  I feature an over priced store bought card, which I have photographed in store because it is far to over priced for me to purchase it for the challenge! Then comes the fun part. Using what I have in my personal stash, I recreate the card and share it with you. The card will then be available for purchase after each challenge.

So know that you know what's going on, let's kick off our Hallmark Challenge #2.

Kind of ridiculous that a card as simple as that is $6 isn't it? I thought so too. Here is my version of the card...

Much better isn't it? I decided to brighten up the design a little by adding the colourful floral design paper across the bottom instead of the bland spotted paper they had on the Hallmark card. I didn't want to over-embellish so went without the dotted trails coming out the bottom of the butterflies and the little daisy images also. I added a couple of rhinestones which weren't featured on the original card, but that's because you can't NOT have rhinestones on a little baby girls 1st birthday card!

So there you have it. Hallmark's version for just shy of $6, and my card which is now up for sale for just $4 and comes with a free co-ordinating envelope. Card is available for purchase here.

If you'd like to join in on the Hallmark Challenge fun, please go ahead and create your own version of this card, and add it to our Linkup Party below!
